Oh Granny…

NOTE: This poem is a tribute to my paternal grandmother who was the most important person that shaped my life, one without whom I wouldn’t definitely have been where I am today.

Granny… Oh Granny.. You were my inspiration.
Imbibed the virtues of life, discipline and education..
Oh Granny.. You were my inspiration…

I remember how you loved me, the special way you cared.
You used to comfort me, when i was sad or scared.
You took care of my life, since my birth..
You taught me what life is, and what its really worth!
Oh Granny.. You were my Planet Earth…

You woke me up in the morning, and got me ready to school.
There were times when i was angry, and you would make me cool.
You showed me how to keep faith in god, taught me how to pray.
Devote some time to god, and made sure i would do that everyday!
Oh Granny… You showed me the Way!

I remember the great dishes, delicious you would cook.
Tasty sea food curries, one could never find in a book.
The way you took care of our entire family,
You loved everyone of us, and definitely me…
Oh Granny… I miss you certainly…

The first bank account i opened was thanks to you.
The only funds i would deposit, were the ones that you would give…
You showed me how to save money, and taught me how to spend,
From whom i could borrow, and to whom i could lend..
Oh Granny… You were the one we could depend!

You dedicated your life, for the good of our lives…
The love you showed to your daughters and their husbands, sons and their wives…
You guided us to be good, throughout your whole live…
Always encouraged us to glory, and forced us always to thrive..
Oh Granny… How I wish you were alive!
